OUR STORY

We are a group of native women from Land Below the Wind – Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. We run a social enterprise investing in sustainable products and empowering the indigenous people to drive their business to grow and develop.

This a gain will lead our business to be able to supply meaningful products with a story that matters – A story that can enable people to remain and live in small villages with easy access to raw materials from the rainforest and getting their products distributed to the world.

Some of the flagship products that we have here are, Virgin Coconut Oil, Lemongrass Insect Repellent, Borneo Coffee Scrub and Soaps from plant extract. We harvest the best of raw materials and extract the best essence to process our downstream products. With our core value, here is our MOTTO :

MELISSA ALUT LIM

A born bred Sabahan lass; Native Chinese (Sino- Kadazan), with a clinging sense of affection towards Borneo eco-tourism, Melissa pursue her localized Nature Guide license in 2011, enable her to guide you through North Borneo from mountain high to ocean deep.

“My mission is to deliver the wonderful nature of Borneo to the other parts of the world while connecting the indigenous community of Borneo by imparting skills and know-how transfer, with the objective to eliminate poverty and encourage sustainable living and preservation of cultural diversity.”

ELEZABITH MARTIN

Once a quiet and timid housewife, standing behind the scenes of life today, she stands tall as a strong and inspiring Production Team Leader. Her journey wasn’t easy, filled with doubts, long days, and silent struggles. But through patience, courage, and the small steps taken every single day in our humble factory, Eliz slowly found her voice, her strength, and her confidence. Today, her smile tells a story not just of success, but of resilience, growth, and transformation. A reminder that even the smallest beginnings can lead to the most powerful breakthroughs. We are beyond proud to celebrate you, Eliz . a true role model for many young housewives in our community. This breakthrough is yours, and it’s only the beginning.

JAILI TORONGOH

The heart of our team and lovingly known as “Aunty Jaili,” she is the eldest member who brings warmth, dedication, and resilience to our community. Hailing from Kampung Sinopukan in Kiulu, she has been part of the RBC family since 2016. With a natural talent and deep passion for craft and soap making, Aunty Jaili learned everything through hands-on experience and determination. Despite challenges with literacy, she continues to master her skills through practice, memory, and the guidance of our research team. Her calm presence and caring nature make her a strong support system for everyone, especially during busy production seasons. Aunty Jaili truly represents the strength, perseverance, and spirit of local women in our community.

WIRUNICE

From the peaceful village of Topokon, Tamparuli, Sabah, Wiru’s journey is a beautiful reflection of growth, strength, and purpose. Behind every well-organized shelf and every product that reaches your hands with quality assured, there is Wiru,the quiet force in our Store Keeping department. With her sharp eye for detail and analytical mind, she plays a vital role in ensuring every incoming ingredient and finished product meets our standards of excellence. But beyond her role, Wiru carries a genuine passion for wellness. Her love for our Essential Oil range shines through in every conversation, just say hi, and she’ll gladly share her knowledge and help you find the perfect scent for your journey. 🌿 We are proud to see local women like Wiru rise, grow, and inspire within our community.

ZENO YANG

A special and inspiring member of our RBC family, Zeno brings heart, dedication, and quiet strength to the team every single day. While communication may sometimes be challenging due to his hearing difficulties, his passion and commitment speak louder than words. In the production house, Zeno focus and skill in handmade crafts are truly remarkable. With patience, determination, and a big heart, he continues to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to the work we do together. More than that, Zeno is also a symbol of hope and motivation for other children and individuals who face similar challenges. His journey reminds us that limitations do not define a person,courage, perseverance, and passion do. Through his example, he encourages others to believe in themselves and never give up on their dreams..

VANESSA ANN AVONG

The heart and strength behind our production line at Rustic Borneo Global. As a dedicated Production Leader, Vanessa’s journey is one of growth, resilience, and quiet determination. From mastering technical skills to building strong teamwork, she has evolved into a confident leader who inspires those around her every day. With every product that leaves our hands, Vanessa’s discipline, attention to detail, and commitment to quality shine through. More than just leading a team, she nurtures a positive working spirit.where cooperation, trust, and responsibility grow together. Vanessa believes in moving forward, not just for herself, but for the whole family at Rustic Borneo Global. ESTHER BESTAN

A devoted mother of three from Kampung Ramayah, Penampang, Esther’s journey is one of resilience, strength, and new beginnings. Once an entrepreneur who collaborated with Multi-National Company, she faced difficult experiences that tested her confidence and spirit. Yet, those challenges only shaped her into the strong and inspiring woman she is today. Today, Esther proudly serves as our Sales Representative at Rustic Borneo Craft, where she continues to grow, connect with people, and share the beauty of local craftsmanship with the community. Balancing her role as a loving mother and a dedicated team member, Esther brings warmth, sincerity, and passion into everything she does. Her journey reminds us that sometimes the most meaningful paths come from courage, healing, and the support of a community that believes in second chances. We are proud to have Esther as part of our family.

ANASTASIA ALBERT

Born and raised in Sabah, Anastasia is a proud member of the rare Dusun-Lobu community, carrying a deep appreciation for Borneo's rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and traditional craftsmanship. As one of the youngest members of the Rustic Borneo Global family, she brings fresh creativity, passion, and a modern digital perspective to every story she shares. As the voice behind Rustic Borneo Global's social media and marketing, Anastasia believes that every handmade product carries more than natural ingredients,it carries the stories of local communities, the wisdom of indigenous traditions, and the beauty of Borneo's rainforest. Through creative content, digital marketing, and authentic storytelling, she strives to connect people from around the world with the heart of Sabah. Her work goes beyond promoting products.
